October Events . . .

That's Maria Skyping with friends...
At a church fundraiser auction....
Joseph got a traditional Naga men's shaul.
Diwali in our area of town.... the haze is from all the smoke from firecrackers!
Over the last month it has been an exhausting pace we've seemed to keep but we seem to be hanging in there.

Maria has a head cold (4 days now). Joseph is coming back today from a 3 day camping trip with some friends. Nafisa has the week off of school due to the festivals going on here. Merrilea is continuing with homeschool stuff and getting ready for her folks to arrive in a few weeks. They'll rejoin us for about 5 months! :-) Danielle is having WAY too much fun with her friends, art classes and with life itself!

We've had a pretty productive week and it's only Wednesday even though two events were canceled. On another battlefront - we're again trying to keep pigeons from making homes of our patios. I guess if they were any other bird it'd be fine but they make a mess and they stink...let alone are pretty dirty animals.

I think we are all recovered from the events of last week's car issues. We're heading to Goa for a family vacation for a week. Still have to pack but on Saturday, after Maria and Joseph take another swing at tests - the ACT this time, we'll hop on a train for 12 hours and sit on the beach for a while. REALLY looking forward to it.

NEW ADVENTURE!

Writing on the beach....What's the traffic up on the left?

Road lines...?

Got Milk?

We had a great walk around South Mumbai by the Taj Hotel...the one invovled in the terrorist threats last Nov.... opposite this Gateway of India. Can anyone say MP3 Player?

Then.....

Earlier in the day, right after Maria and Joseph took their PSATs in Mumbai, a rickshaw rammed right into our left side. The rickshaw was totaled and the driver needed 2 stitches but all the rest were ok.

THEN, midway between Mumbai and Pune our clutch/transmission refused to work for us....1 hour later we were back on the road...being towed and in a taxi!

Here's what an average Tow truck looks like here.

This is what I call 'Joseph doin some Learnin!'
