Family Reunion

Here in Colorado Springs, CO, Merrilea's parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Not all of us could be around all together, but here are some pics...

Our Journey...

After going to Carnegie Science Museum in Pittsburgh, we drove all night to Missouri to visit with Sarah and her mom. We were treated to a great catfish supper! We left for Oklahoma to visit with Mark and Aimee via the Precious Moments Chapel...where I lost a pair of glasses while playing with Nafisa...worth the loss...but now I lost a pair....not my kids.

Then we drove straight to Colorado Springs...to visit with Merrilea's family.
Between Focus on the Family, the Manitou Incline hike (the Manitou Incline averages almost a 40% grade - gaining 2011 feet in elevation over a length of approximately one mile -- with the maximum grade being 68%.), and fun with family...it's turning into an awesome trip!

At Precious Moments with some of our nieces and nephews

With Mark and Aimee just outside of Tusla, Ok. I think this was our first trip through Ok!

Finally reunited in Colorado Springs!

Touring BRIO at Focus on the Family with cousins!

Manitou Incline...WOW. What a Hike!

Re-Adjustments

Being back now 4 days, it's just taking me a bit longer to figure out...
1. How to pump gas in a self-service pump....where does the credit card go?
2. Right is right...stay to the right! (we drive on the left in India!)
3. Right hand turns on red are usually good
4. It's 7pm, why hasn't the sun set yet?
5. We used to be able to drink from the faucet...not anymore?
6. 24 hour electricity and water...I can get used to that! Where are the light switches?
7. Lots of big cars on the roads
8. GPS system...I'm getting one sent from Amazon.Com for our road trip next week!
9. Less than $4/gallon? I've been paying $4/gallon for years!
10. Breath that Rural Pennsylvania air!
11. Blueberries!
12. Steak!
13. Where's the ceiling fans?!!! It's hotter in Kittanning that it is in Pune right now!
14. No houling dogs, pigs and donkeys at night!!!
15. GREEEN GRASS!
16. Socks?!!!
17. Bureaus and walk-in closets...attics and garages!
18. Costcos, Walmart...wow! So big with so many varieties!

I'm Baaack

We'll, I'm finally reunited with half our family...jet lagging and all. :-)

Now that I've been back for 12 hours, we're having a yard sale...getting rid of some of our our stuff from storage and Merrilea's parent's stuff, too. Yup, for all those Schrack's looking in, that's the big pine kitchen table up for grabs!

THEN, we'll head this afternoon to the county fair down in Kittaning by the river...

It's great to be back, though very surreal.
