Maria's Korner

Maria and Dr. Shama Singh (Hindi teacher) cooking.
They are making one of the tastiest Indian snacks we enjoy called Bhel

The sauce is made from oil, chopped ginger, garlic, curry leaves and cumin. This is browned slightly and then water of soaked tamarind and salt is added. Then they add the dry ingredients: chopped boiled potatoes, chopped onions and tomatoes, chopped green mango and sugar along with chopped green cilantro and some dry snack foods like puffed rice, etc.

We make sure it's served chilled...and it hits the spot during our current temperatures over 104 degrees!
