Between Here and There

I've been in Pune these last few weeks while the family has been in the US.
Specifically, Merrilea, Danielle and Nafisa have been in upperstate NY and now in Kittanning, PA. I'll be joining them on Friday if my flights go as planned. That's a 16 hour non-stop flight form Mumbai to NJ, then a short jump to Pittsburgh.

Maria and Joseph remain in Wyoming where they've spent their summer. If all goes as planned we'll see them the week of Aug 17th. It's been the longest we've all been away from each other.

Since I've been in Pune, the city has gone to 2 power cuts per day - 3 hours each.
All day power cuts on Thursday (not new) and Friday (new). I do laundry at night now.
At least we have 24 hour water which we have not had up till now. The water was cut from 2-4pm and 11 till 4 am.

The rains have increased today...got all wet while paying some bills. While I've been busy at work some of our friends TP'd our car and motorbike in pink TP and 'vaselined' the car door handles. I can't remember the last time someone TP'd our car! :-) (THANKS EDDIE!!!)

I can't wait to see our family again...my own and my siblings and parents. SKYPE has been great as it costs 2 cents per minute! I need to be using it more.

DELL came to our home here in Pune and replaced my DVD player/burner this morning! Warranty work with DELL in India is fantastic! So far my motherboard and keyboard have been fully replaced this year - on warranty.

The pics above are from our recent trip to northern Thailand.
